The annual Oculus Conect conference is bringing some great news to the VR/AR fans. Oculus Conect 6 started on 25th September and finished after couple days. The highlight of the event was hand tracking for the Oculus Quest. According to Mark Zuckerberg, this new feauture will be implemented in 2020. Hand-Tracking will use a sophisticated AI to help recognize your hands, it can analyze individual fingers and also tracks the movement of the joints.
Facebook also mentions that no additional hardware is needed, everything will run directly from the headset, with “no active depth-sensing cameras, additional sensors, or extra processors required.” The feature will be launched as experimental for consumers and SDK for developers in the beginning of 2020.
But things don’t end here, it gets even better, another feature presented was Oculus Link, a hardware/software solution that will let you connect the Quest to your PC. Zuckerberg also said that you will also be able to play Rift games with the Oculus Quest. “Your Quest is basically a Rift now,” he said. The Oculus product manager, Stephanie Lue said that more than 50 Oculus Go apps are being ported to the Quest.
Why Are These Updates Huge For the VR Porn Industry?
Sure, there are some gaming applications for this feature. But is hand tracking for games really that much of an interest? It’s very hard to imagine playing most of the existing games without the precision of a joystick. I can imagine Social Chat benefiting from this as well. Using your hands is so important for communication. It’s a game changer when you can talk and gesture without having a controller in your hand. But still, I think the best use for hand tracking has to be porn.
Imagine no longer having to use your controller during the porn session, removing that friction factor. You simply put your headset on and you are ready to go. You no longer need to reach for your joystick every time you want to pause or switch to the next scene. I’m not even talking about the VR Porn Games. Once this feature gets implemented things will start getting pretty crazy. In a very good way.
I’m sure the VR porn industry will explode once this feature is fully set up and ready to go. There’s already a ton of money involved with VR games. Games like Virt-A-Mate, Fallen Doll, Waifu Sex Simulator, just to name a few, are already making thousands of dollars a month on their patreon, not to mention the more professional studios like SinVR and VRLove.
We all know that porn is the hidden engine that drives the Tech Industry, and I’m sure this new feature is no different. Personally, I can’t wait to see what the Virtual Reality future holds for the porn industry. I’m going to keep a close eye on the Oculus Quest and I suggest you do the same if you want to best VR porn experience.
